The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Science and Technology Directorate (DHS S&T) has developed a roadmap for cybersecurity research. The intent of this document is to provide detailed research and development agendas for the future relating to 11 hard problem areas in cybersecurity, for use by agencies of the U.S. Government and other potential R&D funding sources. The roadmap document identifies critical needs, gaps in research, and a research agenda appropriate for near, medium, and long term attention. The document, developed over the course of 15 months based on input provided by a large team of academic and industry experts assembled by DHS S&T, is available for download here (PDF, 2.6MB).
The Cyber Security R&D Center was established by the Department of Homeland Security in 2004 to develop security technology for protection of the U.S. cyber infrastructure. The Center conducts its work through partnerships between government and private industry, the venture capital community, and the research community.
